=46or the record, my experiments with the Spearmint turned out
"dreadful" as well. I spoke to Ron about it and he suggested the
Rutile - this was months ago, when the book first came out. I bought
different rutile from somewhere far away, but never got around to
testing it, as my palette has changed. Also, for the record, R&J
noted in their book that Spearmint was thickness sensitive, so anyone
having trouble with it should test this variable as well.

The big irony in all this is that everyone but me - spouse, studio
mates, and buyers - LOVED the so-called "goose poop" color! I hated
it, because it wasn't what I expected, but everyone else saw it
strictly for what it was - a lovely olive green that broke into
spearmint-y pools. I mixed up a big batch based on the great reaction
to the test and use it occasionally. It looks good on my ware and
sells well. =20

My Sky Blue looked exactly like the picture. =20

Keep on testing, testing, testing. And remember the old adage - Your
mileage my vary!
