remembrance - artists respond to 9/11

Greetings y'all. Last year our own Lowell Baker proposed the idea for a =
show of work made by artists in response to the horrible tragedies on =
9/11/01. I don't know if anyone else took up the idea. If anyone else =
here organized such a show, please let me know before Thursday.

In conjunction with The Marshall Gallery, Living Tree Studios is =
sponsoring Remembrance: Artists Respond to 9/11 , a show of work in =
various media by artists from around the country. The show will be held =
at The Marshall Gallery, 430 N. Eugene St. in Greensboro, NC and will =
open on 9/11/02 with a reception from 6 - 9pm. Any of you who are in =
the area or can be in the area, please feel invited to attend. This is =
going to be a powerful show, to say the least.

Unbeknownst to me, Lowell Baker entered two pieces for jurying into the =
show. Both of his pieces were accepted, and I did not know this until =
after the jurying took place. Marcia Selsor also entered a piece and =
was juried into the show. Final jurying for places has not been done =
yet, so I can't say who did or did not win. The jury had a hard time =
choosing; there were over 100 entries they had to narrow down to 30 =
accepted.

I asked that if anyone else has organized a show in response to Lowell's =
idea, please let me know by Thursday. This is because we are supposed =
to be interviewed by a local TV station, and if there are more than one =
of these exhibits that were sparked by Lowell's idea, I'd like to be =
able to say so. :) PLMK by THursday noon.

Hope some of you can come out to the opening and if not, get here by the =
end of September. If the actual works are like the slides at all, they =
will be fantastic. :)

I have not planned to show the images on the net, but that's not to say it
can't be done. I'll look into it and post if I do put 'em up.

Thanks

Lisa, are there any plans for posting pictures of the show on the net? It
would be wonderful for those of us who can't get to the show.
