effects of oxides on stains and glazes

I am getting some lovely colours from stains and oxides in slip and when I
glaze over with a clear glaze.

Now I really want to experiment with oxides such as rutile, crocus martis
etc to produce more sublet effects, particularly to get some breaking on
rims, handles etc. hare's fur and suchlike.
Other than the well known books such as Potters Palette, Hamer etc do other
potters here know of a source where I could find out what each oxide is
likely to do and what quantities to try?

Just trying to avoid a lot of needless tests. So much knowledge is out
there, somewhere.

This is for earthenware, oxidised in an electric kiln at cones 1-3.
