refiring mexican pottery

i have a garden fountain from mexico. it is crumbling from alberta weather,
despite winter storage. can i refire it at ^o6 or ^6 to harden it? it is
plain terra cotta, no glazing. thanks! arlene

not knowing the original composition of the clay, you could fire a chip that
has fallen from the pot and see what happens...that is the only way that I
can see to be sure of the firing temperature. Often this pottery is fired
in the 015 range so be careful!
