a question on wheels

To some extent, what kind of wheel you buy, new or used, ultra strong, or
medium, depends on what kind of use you plan to give it. If you are
planning on going into heavy production, I would want a very powerful wheel
that would stand up to years of use, and not break down. I bought a real
workhorse twenty years ago. A Skutt, no longer made, which is still going
strong. Now I want to work standing up, and don't need as much power, so I
bought a Bailey PROX, and like it very much. This is not the strongest
model they make. The proXL is.
If, on the other hand you want a wheel to practice on, don't plan on earning
a living this way, a second hand wheel could be okay. The problem with any
wheel is you really don't know what you are buying. With a new wheel at
least, you get a warranty. Good luck, Rikki Gill in Berkeley
