Is it '110' or '220'?

Are you certain that if it is '220' that it is plugged-wired into 220, and
not
110?

Does the Motor get hot or warm?

Does it make any cyclic 'squeaky' sounds, humm, vibrate, spark or shudder?

Are you certain that the wires as connect the Motor to the Electricity are
connected
to the correct posts-terminals in the Motor?

Does the sound or anything else change when the Clay is introduced?

Is there a reverse switch, and if so, does anything change sound-wise when
that is actuated?

Is there a gearbox as has Oil or Grease in it, or as should have, which may
have become low on lubricant?

> We have a venco 3.5 inch de-airing pugmill that just doesnt seem to put
out clay very fast. I do know it is getting proper power and is only 2 1/2
years old. We bought it used from a local school. When we got it it seemed
in great condition aside from the hopper handle being bent severly down. My
uneducated assumption is that stiff clay may have been forced into it and
that bent the screw. I used a 4 inch model at another pottery and it really
pushed out the clay.
