Danny Schepis at Creative Industries said I was absolutely the only person
he had ever heard of to have this problem and I just wondered if anyone here
could help.

I have a HP wheel and the adjustable screw leg broke off right where it goes
into the fiberglass base unit.....too short to grab and unscrew. The steel
screw is set into a brass bushing in the fiberglass.

Now I know that doesn't sound like a big problem and I've been throwing with
it propped up on 3 pieces of plywood for 4 years now, but they sent me a new
screw-in leg and I want to replace the broken one....but, here's the catch,
...NOTHING... will drill out this metal. We have used liquid wrench, broken
2 ez outs, 3 drill bits, a cobalt bit made for steel I-beams doesn't make a
dent in this screw which is about 1/4" wide. The diamond bits I use to trim
drips off pots doesn't work either. I'm trying a carbide bit next, I guess,
but the guy said the cobalt bit should work.

We have a larger ez out if we can just get a hole in the screw....but how?
Has anyone any ideas? I will take it to a machine shop if necessary but if
they have something then I can get it too and I'm getting compulsive now.
Am I really the only one to have this happen?

Otherwise I really do like this wheel.
