Ah, Jeez. In '90 & '91 I used to stop in there whenever I had to
make a San Antonio run. Harding was always at work way early
in the a.m. He knew -in a vague way - several of the students
from Corpus Christi and the San Antonio area, and when any of
us stopped in, he'd just put us to work until we had to leave.
Always something doing, there.

It will be tough to keep out the car wash. Cities don't care much.
I'm gearing up my letter-machine.

Dale, Gang,
Did a search on google and found these pictures. Check out the oil spot and
Red Chun.
Wow!! Talk about amazing!
Thanks for the lead Dale!

I have been waiting for this day for at least 2 decades. When I first
met Harding Black at his studio in the early 1970's and North Star Mall
had just opened across the street, I saw the writing on the wall.
In fact, I am amazed that the wonderful little pottery studio lasted
all these years smack dab in the middle of the red-hot North San Antonio
building frenzy.
But I never thought a car wash would do it in. Insulting as well as
short-sighted.

We do love to tear down buildings in Texas. Two years ago I found
out that my childhood home in Dallas was torn down and replaced
with a newer, bigger house. The "old" house was built in 1948, and
was always expertly maintained and modernized through the years.
In four hours it was gone; nothing was even salvaged.

Let me know if I can help the Potter's Guild with a letter of support.
