I heard while I was in Cincinnati re: Tony & Sheila C.'s
rotten border experience. I expect Mel has shut this
conversation off, but maybe not.
My three trips to Canada to present workshops went well
enough regarding border crossing. But, all the places where
I went advised me to say (truly enough) that I was a visiting
artist and tourist, participating in a workshop at Nanaimo or
Toronto or wherever. They advised me not to mention anything
else, nor to volunteer that I would be teaching. I lucked out,
but will be more thoughtful another time.
I must say I am always puzzled by the time and energy spent
in preventing legitimate crossings by the likes of Tony/Sheila,
while illegal entries continue to pour across the borders both
north and south, and from sea to shining sea. Left hands and
right hands need better communication.
