Another word for that is the wonderful *Honorarium*. The OED defines it
as: *A voluntary payment made for services where no fee is legally
required* also known (notoriously) as a golden handshake.

Truly it covereth a multitude of sins!

I think Snail's S.O. should get in touch with the A.C.C. and put them on
the straight and narrow to save future heartache!
