Greetings,
Here are more gleanings from the net:
Neriage or Nerikomi - Marbled wares...
...
I took a course a couple of years ago in Tennessee.
(at Clayarter Vince Pitelka's home base, the Appalachian Center for Crafts)
On my way home I visited a gallery north of the Smithville area.
I ended up purchasing a lovely neriage-formed mug.
The potter's signature was partly obscured.
It didn't seem to matter; I liked the piece anyway.
Then I saw a teapot online with the same pattern of colouration, here:
http://www.uttyler.edu/studioart/borders/siegele.htm
By now I was curious! Surely my mug was by the same maker?
This time I took a hand lens to the signature...
Yes, surely it read: "Buzzard Mountain".
It took a moment to search for "Susy Siegele" and "Mike Haley" and "Buzzard
Mountain"...
My results:

Nerikomi Chawan by Takako Kikuchi
A brief quote from the site:
> These days here in Japan many women potters have successful
> careers - that wasn't always the case though. Pioneers, like
> Takako Araki, Kyo Tsuji, and Takako Kikuchi, broke into the
> male-dominated field and have been inspirations for the many
> women ceramists today. (...)
I'd like to have seen more of her work.

The "Pottery Portfolio" link doesn't work for me using Netscape 4.7.
In IE, it just shunts you down the page to the text links as seen above.

Nerikomi Bowl 1993 - colored porcelains; hand-built and nerikomi technique
There is only one example of Hoadley's work. I'd enjoy seeing more.

Enjoy the show, everyone...
It's late, and I'm under the weather with a summer cold.
Why do I always feel so well just before a cold comes on???
