e-mail lists (was washington potter's assoc)

Orchard Valley Ceramics Arts Guild on sat 22 jun 02

Hi Steve,

If you need to regularly communicate with members of your group,
you may want to consider setting up an e-mail list for the purpose.
In our own guild, over 90% of our members have e-mail access,
so it's a very useful way to get out important announcements between
issues of our regular newsletter. We've even set up a "buddy system"
so that members with e-mail pass on announcements to those
without.

There is special software you can get to manage lists, but for most
groups it's just as easy to use a free service like Yahoo Groups
(http://groups.yahoo.com/)

Regards,

Bob

PS - just a reminder, if you are a member of a guild or association, check
out our "Guilds Working Together" web page at http://www.ovcag.org/guilds
