What an awesome weekend! Ron Roy did a workshop at our Kawartha =
Potters' Guild on the weekend. The past two days were full of learning =
and fun. Ron is very articulate, a master of his work, and the =
experience was very educational and enjoyable. =20

Oh yeah, you know know those saki jars photographed in John and Ron's =
book, showing some of their glazes, particularly the one on the cover? =
When I walked into the room and saw them sitting on the table, my first =
words were "oh my god, they're small" (having never seen a sake jar =
before, I thought they were about 10" high and couldn't figure out why I =
kept having trouble trying to make the top when I tried to make some). =
If memory serves me right, I think they were about the size of a coffee =
mug in reality!

Ron's slide presentation was terrific and we learned a lot about design =
and making use of negative and positive space. I wanted to rush home =
and start throwing and applying some of the techniques I learned, but =
was too tired. But for today, I'm going to be glued to the wheel. =
Thank-you, Ron, for a wonderful time.

Happy to see Clayart is back up and running again. Mel, I thought =
perhaps you had given up on us all and thrown in the towel (smile).
