I can never figure out if Mercy/mercy is the name of our claybud, or if =
she's like Mama Luce and punctuates all statements about unusual or =
difficult or thrilling events with "mercy," as in "Oh, my, mercy me," as =
she fanned herself .... with her hand if no fan was available.... as =
part&parcel of the "mercy" statement .... sort of replaced a blush ... =
important in Mama Luce's generation ..... and she never managed a =
natural blush about anything ...... so the "mercy, mercy, mercy," did =
it...... as she stubbed out her=20
Lucky Strike, smackin' kids where needed, pattin' her dark brown =
pompadour into place, and declarin' that "mercy me, this does hurt your =
mothah ... why why do I have such willful children?" (We knew Why long =
before we knew anything about genetics.....)=20

Anyway, if Mercy is still reading, do you have pics available on line of =
your luster work? Only if "lusters" don't require potfeet on the =
bottoms of every pot, and lots of grinding. (Yes, Paul, baby, I know =
that the grinding is "part of the craftsmanship" but right now grinding =
is not where I'm lingering ..... if you recall, I had to "grind" all my =
pots, as well as my shelves, early on .... still living with the lousy =
results. I do not want to be a Grinder Craftsperson .... some value in =
knowing what you want, also. Of course, this time next year ... or next =
month.... or tomorrow .... I may be preparing to do just that.)

Thank you, Mercy, if you've managed to figure out my request .....
