Hello Ababi:

I've never used chrome tin glazes on anything but porcelain. You could try
these glazes on any clay that you want but you have to factor in color loss
from whatever oxides are coloring the clay. Another variable is the amount
of tin oxide in the glaze. I would think that more tin would yield more
opacity and probably more tolerance for a darker body. You could also use
porcelain slips over the clay in areas that you wanted purer color.

If you are testing and developing chrome tin reds, I would recommend trying
them on a white clay as well as darker so you will have an idea of the
range of color possibilities.

I've used tin chrome reds on several mid range stoneware clays with very =
nice results. Although this last bag of Gerstley Borate is making the gl=
aze more translucent than in the past. Will be trying an Ian Currie grid=
on it to see if it will behave itself with more clay or more silica late=
r this week.
