Dear Francoise: I read your entire disaster story on the Net and
although I am NOT a kiln guru by any means, I want to
send you a big comfort hug for all that you have been
through since you tried to set up your studio in Spain.
I can't at the moment think of the name of it (may as soon
as I hit SEND) but there is an organization to which I
have donated money which helps craftsfolk who have had
fires or other disasters. I have no idea if what you have
gone through in Spain would qualify you or if, indeed, you
have to live in N. America for aid.
I just wanted to let you know how impressed I am to read
how you can handle solenoids and all those burner parts
which would melt me into my shoes.
I wish the Potters' Council could help you. I have no ideas
but we do have wonderfully kind and knowledgeable folk among
us. All I can do is care very much and hope something will
change your luck.
On a personal note, looking as usual for something lost (slides
in this case) I came across one of your beautiful short stories
that you sent me from Canada many yrs. ago. Besides putting
your story on the Net, perhaps you could turn it into a
Survivor story for one of the journals, which mostly deal
with success. You write beautifully.

Françoise,

What a nightmare.
Sorry I cannot offer any technical help but do have a suggestion.......try
contacting some kiln gurus directly. Their email addresses are frequently
listed in PMI, CM, CT magazines at the end of their articles.
Too bad you are not in the USA...... you'd have a great lawsuit!
