Okay, folks, where is your favorite place to purchase thermocouples and
ceramic probe covers at good prices?

I have had very good luck with Type S thermocouples (with a ceramic
shield) from Euclid's Elements aka Pottery Supply House in Oakville,
Ontario, Canada. Their phone number is 905-827-1129 or 800-465-8544.
I started out with unshielded ones from Orton when I first had
controllers installed on my kilns 2 years ago, but after 6 months I
had had so much trouble that I eventually ate the cost of 10
thermocouples and replaced all of them with ones from Euclid's. I've
been very happy since then.

Paragon sells a type-S thermocouple. It comes with a 1/4" diameter
ceramic sheath.

Before you order a type-S thermocouple, be sure that your
controller can support it. The earlier Paragon controllers (DTC 100
- 1000 series) use type-K only.
