Greetings,
When I first mentioned awhile back that I decided to go with using my gas
kiln to bisque my pots. There had been some concern, especially with carbon
coreing in the bisque and bloating in the glaze firing. Well, Saturday, I
had a glaze firing using the pots from the 10 hour bisque and as luck would
have it, I had no problems. 120 pots stacked, with only minimal loss (3
pots)due to other problems, my own fault, ie handles pulling away.

I even had a great reduction. Heavy, yes I said heavy, reduction from 1000f
to about 2100f, then from 2100f to 2375f, Medium Reduction. Then in
oxidation for about 10 minutes to clear. Nice toasty bottoms, lots of iron
bleeding and bright glazes.
