Hello Bryan,

If I saw an earlier post from you about burner tips, I have since forgotten
the content.
I'll have to spend a little time researching thermal shock resistant
high-temp ceramics, possibly something based on the mineral steatite. As I
dimly recall from past readings, these had to be high fired, possibly cone
13.

Another, possibly more practical approach has occured to me, using castable
ceramic fiber, either an alumina or zirconia based fiber. Such a material
may be more shock resistant, and if damaged, easier to repair/replace.

I'll let you know if I find any material/process in my searches.
