Dear Working, I'm not sure I understand the details of your
situation, but, what you want to do is possible, and I did
it to my mixer.
Your receptacle will carry more amps than the smaller plug
on the claymixer, so it is perfectly OK to replace the plug
with one that will match your outlet. (The reverse would not
be OK).

When you look in the starter box on the mixer, it should be
obvious which of the three terminals is the neutral, or ground,
terminal. It will probably be in the middle, and either above or
below the other two, one on each side.
You simply decide which of your three wires will be the neutral
wire, and then, when you put the plug on the other end of the
wire, make sure you attach that same wire to the neutral connection.
Again, it will be obvious which connection in the plug is for neutral.

By convention, either green or white wire are used for the neutral
leg of the current.
If your cord has red, black, and white wires, use white for neutral.
If it has black, white, and green, use green for neutral.
If you need more help, I will go look at my clay mixer and give you
more specific details.
