Sorry I inadvertantly threw out the name of the person who asked about
a sheath for covering his soda/salt kiln probe....I fire with many ash
glazes and I was ruining mine at a rate of about one a month till
Michael at Tucker's made me a "ceramic condom." The reading was
different by only a few degrees and I have not had to replace them any
more than you would expect. I presume a similar thing would work for
salt or soda.
