I glazed my teapots with the floating blue/Xavier combination and also a =
bunch of saki cups and some misc big bowls......there was not one =
clinker...from black to navy to med. blue to creamy on top, it's just =
extremely varigated, so rich and full of interest, and so =
predictable...runs just enough to be beautiful and stops...a normal cool =
down, no soaking, as electricity is so expensive here.... but my kiln =
cools very slowly anyway... A shop I wholesale to makes lovely handwoven =
textiles and their best selling color is blue in their table linens, so =
I'm forced to come up with something that I can live with and I even =
love this ....if you want to try what I did, e-mail me off line, and =
I'll send specifics along....as Ababi pointed out to me: A LITTLE OF =
THIS AND LITTLE OF THAT DOESN'T CUT IT..SPECIFICALLY WHAT DID YOU =
DO???.....I didn't change the floating blue, just changed the colorants =
of the Xavier's. underneath it......I don't think, with me so far away, =
our pots will likely run into each other wearing the same =
dress......might be too dark on stoneware, I use it over =
porcelain.....but with this combination, the floating blue doesn't break =
brown in the thin rim/handle areas, but breaks white so that the =
porcelain shows through, which I like a lot better...Melinda Collins, =
Antigua, Guatemala .... wish Ron would get on with it, and buy the =
digital camera.....
