hi,
next week, i will be making a short business trip to phoenix, AZ with a
truck. can anyone suggest a clay unique to the area i can pick up? i
pit fire earthenware, as well as electric low fire.

In Albuquerque NM we (New Mexico Clay) are selling a natural red
earthenware air-floated clay from the Manzano Mtns. we have it in two
formulas, with a little bit of mica (Fuji) and a lot of mica {Mica Red).
The mica is from Taos.
The cool thing is it is green in the bag, and red after firing, just like
the state question "red or green chili?"
Both these bodies throw well, are inexpensive, and are more rugged than
most commercial clays.
