I have not liked the behavior of Floating Blue cone 6 glaze that I mixed =
up. It crawls, and runs like crazy, in an unpredictable way and I'm not =
that crazy about the color. I never use it. It was the revised version =
using frit 3134. However, I have come upon a gorgeous combination, that =
eliminates both problems and makes a much more rich, dark, varigated, =
beautiful surface.....really gorgeous. I mixed up a bucket of Xavier's =
jade green base, no colorants, from John Hesselberth's site, and added =
cobalt, just a small amount of rutile and a little ocher. Just a =
medium blue transparent semi gloss....nothing extra....but if you dip =
floating blue over, and leave a little room for it to run a little over =
the Xavier base glaze, the runniness is controlled, it's predictable, =
there is no crawling and the color is much, much darker and richer- and =
where the glazes meet, there is a dark line that is wonderful. It is a =
striking combination, and if you are using floating blue as a staple =
glaze, you should really try it. I finally have a blue I like.....I =
have glazed a lot of pieces lately, over a white cone 6 porcelain body, =
it always is gorgeous......Melinda Collins, Antigua, Guatemala

Thank you Melinda but it is not a fine answer. How much is a little?
One gram? One spoon?
