I have extruders, three..... one hand held ... whatta pill (for me)..... =
a Bailey pneumatic which I am learning to enjoy but it was touch and go =
for awhile there... very expensive .. very .... but once I project that =
I am the Alpha Female in this relationship, we'll do well together. =20

However, unlike my friend Becky, and Sam Yancy with a name that says =
Alpha Malish, "howdy, maam, the northstar has to go ..... sorry for your =
tender sensitivities, but the job needs to be done" .... I prefer my =
Northstar, as of now, with Bailey hovering just behind. It's true... =
soft clay is vital. I had a heck of a time trying to force the stiffer =
clay and make it work .... but once I moved to soft clay, what a =
difference. And it's so fast ... it's all manual so the clay, the =
extruder, the die, and I were all that was needed to=20
create all that my dies would allow. We have an identical one at our =
local community college, which is in use most of the time since its =
purchase ... mostly coils, yes, but still in use helping make tall, =
gorgeous pots. =20

I like my Bailey extruder, but paid so much that I feel it should be =
doing more .... maybe that'll change next year ... since I seem to =
progress in yearly increments. Probably simply Operator Error.

Dear Joyce,
Is your Bailey the pneumatic version?
If so, what capacity compresser do you use?I felt mine needed a more
powerful one than I first believed was necessary. My former vompresser died
so I need another ayways.
