Mel: Thanks for this posting. Very nicely done and very good advice.
I like the charcoal idea as I am firing with two homemade burners.
I've been firing my kiln for about 15 years and it is still a dance. I'm
sure that watching me fire is like watching a monkey try to make love to a
coconut. If I live long enough, I'll figure it out. Sure is fun and
interesting. And, most of the time rewarding.
