Hi Clayarters -

We have just returned from the one-day Canadian Clay Symposium 2002 which was held in the great Shadbolt Centre in Burnaby, B.C. (Vancouver).

WHAT A DAY!

Registered at 8:30am and went non-stop until 5:00pm.

Look at the lineup of presenters:
Ron Roy
Clary Illian
Peter Ilsley
Sally Michener
Allison Fairgrieve
Laura Wee Lay Laq
Pamela Nagley-Stevenson
Susan LePoidevin
Paul Mathieu
Peter King

It doesn't get much better than this. We are all wondering now how the 2004 Symposium will come up to this standard.

It was a great day - a complete sell-out with a waiting list. We got on the ferry to return to Vancouver Island (those of us that are fortunate enough to live on the" World's Second Most Popular Island Vacation Destination") and we were all exhausted but totally exhilerated with all we saw and learned.

I am sure I speak for every person that attended the Symposium when I say that we owe a huge vote of thanks to Cathi Jefferson (one of our own world class potters). Cathi and her helpers did a fabulous job of organizing and pulling off a major event like this that went off without one noticeable hitch.

Thanks Cathi and please put my name at the top of the list for the 2004 Symposium. I would not miss it for anything.
