I thought John Waters's talk in the Randall Session was great. It was
bizarre, irreverent, obscene, and entertaining as hell. He doesn't
specifically go for shock value - he just says exactly what he thinks
without
couching his words in "acceptable" language. He talked about movies like he
makes movies. But each to her/his own.

I loved Soldner's new poster, with Voulkos peering from behind a podium as a
naked Soldner "streaks" across the stage in front of him in a "jogger pram"
being pushed by two naked pregnant women. Did this really happen? How did
I miss it? You can depend on Soldner to always push the envelope, and it is
pretty lame to debate "correctness" or "appropriateness" of what he does. I
admire his enduring spirit. His posters are a parody of the "cheesecake"
photo. You can use exactly the same arguments to condemn or defend him and
his posters.
Best wishes -
