What about making it an annual thing? Sounds like Mark
and his wife may have volunteered for the next one! By
the way, is it still possible to get one? Jules

Julie, you've truly made me hungry! We made the chicken and ate it for lunch
today. Fabulous!
Stop by New Haven for some Indian cooking!

You've spirited me to make a request to the group at large! I am asking each
and every one of you who so dutifully let the group know "What you were up
to" and all you who didn't as well - to now submit your favorite original
recipe / bottle of wine / cooking idea !

I'll collate the recipes and send them out as one massive text doc for you
all to print on your tireless printers.

Be sure to put your name/where you work/the type of work you do/and the name
of your pottery after every recipe/idea. So we don't run into copywrite
issues, original recipes only please! Then I'll cut and paste it all
together into a massive share-ware cookbook. My wife is a book editor -
she's been volunteered to hack it together.and all shall recieve! The
cookbook will be indexed-referenced by region, and type of work
(hi-fire/lo-fire/etc) where appropriate, providing a yummy tourguide to this
nation's most garrulous and glutinous potters.

Potters love to eat! What group firing wasn't also a feed? Workshop nibbles!
Let it roll. . .

Okay, for all of you who appreciate good food, this is
my thank you for all the help I've gotten from
Clayart. My recipe, straight outta Florence, and right
onto your plate, as promised.

Ingredients:
1 package of skinless, boneless chicken breasts
(around 3 breasts)
1 clove fresh garlic
1 large onion
1 bottle red wine (merlot is always good)
1 jar tomato sauce (or your own)
1 can black pitted olives
2 tbsp olive oil

Begin by pouring the olive oil ina frying pan, turning
the heat on low, and adding roughly chopped onionand
garlic. Turn the heat up a little, but not to the
point where it boils (which I usually figure out after
it starts to boil). Open the wine, and take two large
sips, to make sure it hasn't gone bad. Cut the chicken
into bite size pieces, and try to remove anything that
may resemble tendons, if present. Add to the frying
pan, wash hands and cutting board with antibacterial
soap, and take two more swigs of the wine, to ensure
that it hasn't spoiled in the five minutes it's been
opened. Brown the chicken pieces, and add a cup of
wine (after testing it again; you can never be too
careful...) and let it purple the chicken. Get it?
Instead of browning it? Hahaha. After around ten
minutes, add the sauce (which I make from sticking
whole tomatoes, a little water, salt and italian
spices in a covered saucepan, and boiling for an hour
or so), and let it simmeruncovered for a half hour or
so. Drain the olives, drain the bottle (not into the
cacciatore), and add the olives to the mix. Serve five
minutes later with rice or pasta. Take two aspirin and
plenty of water, and leave leftovers, as you probably
won't remember how it tasted the first time around.
Enjoy!

Please forgive the spelling error 'glutinous' should read 'gluttonous', in a
good way mind. Wife never had a chance to copyedit my last missive!

Rather than send a receipe, I would still like to know what happened to the
cookbook I ordered. Followup e-mail was sent approximately 10 days ago and
still no reply. Please help

Um....Mark, I hate to burst your bubble, but this has been done, last year.
In fact, you can still get a copy of the cookbook by going to
http://www.living-tree.net

The book has 208 pages, including 16 pgs full color images of Clayarters'
work and 5 full-color tab pages too, plus several black and white images,
Limericks by Lewing and Goodrich, and haiku by various other clayarters, AND
recipes in 5 different categories. It has a laminated cover and is spiral
bound so it will lie flat on the counter during use.

As an annual thing, I can assure you that it is not practical. It takes a
LOT of time to put together correctly, and even then there are a couple of
booboos in it. That's not even mentioning the time it takes to pack and
ship 'em........... Yes you can still get one at http://www.living-tree.net

Your replacement cookbook was mailed last week. I have had about 20% of the
folks who ordered claim that they never rec'd their cookbooks; however EACH
AND EVERY box that went out had a return address label on it, and I have
only rec'd one back, so it makes me wonder where the packages are. I asked
at the PO and was told that they would have been sent to dead letter only if
the box got ripped open and contents separated from packaging; otherwise
they would have been delivered or returned to me. It's a problem with no
solution.

Karen,

I'm sure you will get your cook book soon. I, too, was one of the folk
whose book never showed up. Just yesterday it finally arrived!

It is wonderful and well worth the wait.
Thank you Lisa for making sure that I got a book and for all the hours you
must have put into getting this off the ground.

I'm having the same problem as you, Karen. I ordered it a month ago - and
still nothing. And no email response either...it's not a good feeling!
What to do???
