I don't know much about the apprenticeship program, though one of my =
potter friends here did a one day workshop a few years back which she =
thought was worthwhile. The Mercer castle is all hand poured concrete =
and virtually every square foot is covered with hand made tiles from the =
floor to the ceiling. Some of those tiles mercer collected in his =
travels go back to Babylonia. Just the chance to hang out there would =
be worthwhile to anyone interested in tiles. As I recall the old =
tileworks is mostly a museum and the tiles they are making today are in =
a more modern workshop area.
