else's glaze handout

Our field is populated by a lot of sharing folks, but one thing I find =
peculiar and annoying about ceramists and ceramic educators is the lack =
of attribution. Is it me or do other folks feels this way about the =
irony of academicians who PLAGIARIZE.

I personally know colleagues who put together glaze info sheets (and =
other educational materiel) yet somehow fail to even list the artist's =
name in the title of the glaze or attribute the glaze to the artist =
somewhere in the handout like a bibliography. It's embarassing. I =
called one colleague on this practice and their opinion was that giving =
credit to the source was unnecessary. They put together a compendium of =
glaze recipes and handed them out like candy to students and workshop =
participants and pretended they formulated the glazes from scratch.

I try to find out the source or provenance of a glaze and give credit =
where credit is due. Unfortunately, this practice is more the exception =
than the rule.

In reference to the subject line, my question to the group is the =
following:

What is the over and under on a glaze from R & J's book appearing in a =
glaze handout, website, magazine, journal, book (or God forbid Clayart) =
with proper attribution?

Is anyone taking bets? ;-D
