Ugetsu Monogatari is the full name of the film, 1953,
b& w, directed by Kenji Mizoguchi. Only 1 library here
in St. Louis has it, but there are couple of
distributors who sell it online. Just type the title,
Ugetsu, in the Google search engine to find them. One
description is "a poor potter . . . medieval village .
. . is lured away from his devoted wife by a
seductress who turns out to be a ghost . . " It has a
surreal quality.
Happy viewing . . .

I think I have a copy of this. A friend put it at the end of a tape of a
film about Hamada (narrated by a news guy can't remember his name.)

First saw it at a Japan film festival at the U.
