Can you sugest me glaze recipes for a transparent porcelain glaze, cone 12-13. The glaze will be fired in gass kiln, oxidation and reduction firing, cycle about 5 hours.

I have problems with my current glaze because of blisters after inglaze decor firing (gass kiln, 1300°C - cone 10). Maybe dolomite or calcium carbonate couse an increase in off-gassing. What do you think?

Thanks

I noticed this is your 2nd posting to clayart. You need to do a few thin=
gs
to get a response.

- you need to check the archives for past suggestions.
- You need to list your glaze ingredients.
- you need to post your firing schedule for both bisque and glaze firing.

After you have done these things, and still have a problem, then you will
find people willing to help you. Personally, I cannot, and rely on our l=
ist
gurus to help me out when I'm stuck in a corner.

Please cut Gordana just a tiny bit of slack....it sound like she's from
latin america....if so no one shares anything, and she has no one to ask.
Archives aren't easy when you are charged by the minute for internet time,
and large charges added each time to the phone bill. I agree completely she
should do her own research, but maybe someone who high fires, that high, can
help her off line, just as one human to another, or find out, indeed, if
that is the correct temperatures of her firings. I'm telling you the truth,
I've run into people here, who "teach" ceramica, who never even heard of a
cone. It happened yesterday. So, maybe just some off-line dialog from
someone knowledgeable could help her out. It's not often as easy,
internationally, as some might think......I'm not trying to be cranky....You
gotta remember, we don't have suppy houses to fill our needs, and it's
tough.....Melinda Collins, Antigua, Guatemala

Dear Gordana Ricijas,

I think your best reference here is Glazes by Cullen Parmelee, first =
edition.

As an alternative, convert cone 6 or 7 unity formulae into batch =
recipes.

I thought about trying to help with this but I have no experience with this
kind of high heat.

Gordana - if you are listening - if you can get the analysis of the
materials that are available to you I think I can at least get you going on
some experiments.

Contact me and outline the problem again.
