Hi:

I'll bet some of you thought I was attemping to start a philosophical
discussion. Nope, not me!

Art from The Heart is a show that is opening at The Fire's Eye Gallery in
McMinnville, Oregon on the 15th of Feb, 2002 and runs thru March 11th. My
wife, Linda Owen, is the person behind the show and the idea. We are
supposed to be co -owners of the Gallery but I'm really just the janitor
and maintainance guy.

This is a group show of 13 artists who have survived cancer. Some have had
more than one go-round. Linda wanted to do this show because she's one of
the survivors and has strong beliefs about the sustaining value that a
person's work has in times of crisis and beyond. Most of the folks in the
show are friends. The Gallery will donate some of the proceeds from sales
to Cancer Research.

The Ceramists in the show are:

Linda Brewer, Silver City, NM, Clay Sculpture
Ginny Conrow, Seattle, Wa, Porcelain
Blythe Eastman, Grand Ronde, Or, Clay Sculpture
Cynthia Jenkins, Seattle, Wa, Pottery
Kathy Knowles, Newberg, Or, Clay Sculpture
Linda Owen, Hopewell, Or, Kiln Formed Glass

The reception is Feb 7, 2002 from 2pm to 4pm.

The gallery is located 7 miles west of McMinnville on Hwy 18 at a small
crossroad Arty pitstop called Bellevue. Yes, it's the "other"
Bellevue. Gallery hours are 11am to 5:30pm daily. Phone is 503
843-9797. We have a website that is still being built on a daily basis by
our intrepid Webster, Cyd. www.fireseyegallery.com There is a map to the
gallery on the website.

I hope some of you folks within shouting distance can come. I'll be there
somewhere sweeping up.

regards, Craig Martell in Oregon
