DODGE LANE POTTERS' GROUP
IS PROUD TO PRESENT

MARCH 16 & 17, 2002

A GLAZE WORKSHOP WITH
IAN CURRIE

The workshop will take participants through the recipe-based grid method as
outlined in "Revealing Glazes - Using the Grid Method". Being a recipe
method, it is accessible to all regardless of their understanding of glaze
chemistry. At the end of the first day students will have possibly 5 sets
of
glazes (about 175 individual glazes) ready for firing, and will understand
the
method. The second day, the glazes fired overnight and the participants
will
be able to see and assess the results and explore possibilities with group
discussions. Other activities on the second day may include a lecture on
glaze theory, a slide lecture on Japanese pottery, wood firing and pottery
in
general, and more time to work one to one with students.

Ian Currie lives and works in Queensland, Australia. He has been studying
and working with clay and glazes for over 30 years.

Limited enrollment.
Class fee: $ 150.00 includes lunch both days

I suspect that my message will be duplicated many times over: I attended Ian
Currrie's same workshop at Napa College last spring. I learned far more
than I thought I might absorb in two days with Ian. I left with many
practical perspectives.

I encourage you to attend the workshop in Sonora.
