pilot tube clean-out

Hey,
Just loaded a bisque and put it on pilot and sure enough 2 of them were
clogged with spiderweb stuff. Have tried flexable wire trying to not
have to remove them to clean. They are on my old Alpine 20cu updraft,
aluminum tube with about a 3/16" opening and a half circle curve to
reach up to the burner. About 8" in length. Well I have found the
cure.... plastic cord from my weed eater! Strong enough to not crimp,
flexable enough to make the curve and just the right diameter. If I had
only left a little more room between the cinder block wall and the back
of the kiln. Had a great back stretch this A.M. Mike Gordon

First kilns I ever fired were Alpine. Those @#!!##$%% were clogged
every time term began and sometimes in between. Our particular
bugaboo was some tiny wasp that got in there. Had to take them
all the way apart, no options. But I learned about their setup.
