Using tile mastic is fine on formica as long as it's structurally sound =
and perfectly clean of any grease and oil.
It's sold in plastic containers to keep it from drying. It doesn't =
cure. It dries, as the water /solvent emulsion evaporates to create the =
bond.
Mastic is just a more specific name for adhesive. Mastic is nothing more =
than a=20
"tile glue".
Thinset would be a problem in this formica situation.
