making slump plates

OK if we're talking slump plates now, how do people keep the darn things
from warping? I know you roll the clay two ways evenly, and compact it
by going over it with a rolling pin or straight edge at an angle, again
not just one way to even out the platelets. You try to ease it evenly
into your mold. Then I texture the rim. Still, sometimes it just ain't
even. Has anyone else had this problem? Lesley

I always use a sponge to go over the entire surface and make sure the clay
is in contact with whatever you are using as a mold. Rikki Gill
