Dear Lee: Note: The glaze in the bowl at the top of page 40 in Hluch's book is Not Shino - it is Rhodes' high alumina matte glaze (last one in Clay&Glazes 3rd ed) 50% Custer spar, 20% Dolomite, 5% Whiting (not Cadycal), and 25% EPK (my workhorse glaze). I am firing a jar next week with GWU shino pearl int with the redFeOx/Co carb/MgO2 geom paint ext - we'll see what happens. NEZBAH sometimes i get lavender flashes on the Rhodes' - 1 thought it's others chrome nearby...
