Thank you Bacia for taking the time to share the Ruth Duckworth
interview excerpt.
It is so good to hear / read the words of artists we respect, who have
given us so much!
interesting to hear about their own journey s through life!

As an aside, I have been reading a book called 'The World as Sculpture"
,.'The Changing Status of Sculpture from the Renaissance to the
Present Day" by James Hall.
It is an interesting read though so far not exactly uplifting as
sculpture (European) is seen as both the art of the lewd , the beastly ,
the commoner, the laborer, the mentally thick, and inspirationally
challenged, especially compared to the light filled and gentlemanly ,
noble art of the painter!!!!
I do hope it gets better or may have to just go back to being a
longshoreman!!!!!
Not sure where the book is going, but some interesting and sometimes
extreme perspectives , thinking and attitudes from bygone eras . Many
quotes and anecdotes on the strange life of sculpture.
