withdrawal symptoms and recipes

Happy new year to everyone in Clayart world. I'm trying to read through
all (well, most of) the Clayart messages I have missed over the break
when I was on nomail, trying to catch up on conversations, and also to
recover from the withdrawal symptoms! It will probably take all week to
read everything properly during lunchtimes and after hours.

Withdrawal was helped by a great gift from my sister - a set of Kemper
tools. A few months ago she and I had been wandering around a hobby
shop and I saw those and admired them, but decided I could not justify
buying more (and expensive) tools that, to be absolutely honest, were
not really essential as I already have stuff that they would duplicate.
But they LOOKED so nice! Well, she remembered the drooling and
worshipping that went on, so she bought them for me. Can't wait to get
back to the workshop (closed till next week, sigh) and I can get started
on some stylish incising, gouging, hacking, drilling holes, and all the
rest of it.

The other event that helped the withdrawals - my 2 copies of the
Cookbook arrived between Christmas and New year. Lisa really does
deserve several medals for all the work she put into organising this
huge task, including the packaging and posting. Great recipes, can't
wait to try them all.

By the way, seeing my contribution in print was something of a shock - I
had sent that to Lisa as a sort of jokey thing to cheer her up during
the stressful near-to-deadline days and never dreamed it would be used!
Haven't tried it myself yet, no, honestly... Unfortunately I cannot
quote the original source (sauce?!) as it is one of those things that
sort of appeared some years ago and has been causing amusement ever
since.

Peace and clay to all,

Jenny
