Joyce, My husband and I found this book about 5 years ago I think. It is
one of our favorites and we also have taken many of the same roads when we
go traveling. You find so much more of LIFE (and great food at little
family diners) when you get off the interstates. We have had some great
trips, both on our motorcycle and in our car on these little highways. A
highlight was last summer when we drove on back roads through Iowa farming
country (landscape totally unfamiliar to this Colorado girl). At some
point in our future forays, we would also love to come visit you and see
your studio setup and all your work -- it's not that far from San
Diego. All the best to you and everyone on clayart for the holidays.

Andi in San Diego, where the sky at this morning's sunrise was an
absolutely gorgeous pink, yellow glow around the high clouds.

Yes, I'd just gotten into the "wall calendar" restaurant rating system =
.... humorous and pretty accurate .... when I returned home, took my =
copy of "Blue Highways" into work to show those who'd asked about it =
.... and it was promptly stolen. I have to remember to order a new =
copy.

Hmmm ...... must be getting very careless .... my treasured book and =
later my Kyoto freshwater pearl ring .... stolen.
Drat. I don't mnd if groceries are stolen ..... used to leave the car =
unlocked when loaded with groceries for that reason ... figure somebody =
needs to eat or feed a family (being a child in the Depression sears =
some thoughts into your brain&heart) ..... but my treasures? No, that's =
not okay.=20

In the Mojave planning to meet clayarters this morning here at the =
