Dear Lajos,

A couple of options, but first, you don't say what type of Dremel bit you are using.

I suggest using either a carbide bit or a diamond bit. Although Dremel makes them, you can also get these types of bits in sets through discount tool suppliers such as

American Science & Surplus at:

or, Herbach & Rademan at:

http://www.herbach.com/catalog.htm

Other hobby tool suppliers will also have them.

It may also be possible to use automotive valve lapping compound (fine silicon carbide grit in oil). Take a short piece of brass brazing rod (10 cm), split one end with a pair of diagonal cutting pliers to make a drill bit. Mount the rod in the Dremel tool, and apply a drop or two of lapping compound to the split end of the rod. This method takes a while but will work. Use low speed with a slight probing motion. It may be necessary to re-split the end of the rod as it wears through.

Good luck,

Logan Oplinger
