I bought a marker to write on CD's and tried it on the bottom of some =
pottery to sign my name. As far as I can tell it seems to work well. I =
tried to wash it off, and couldn't. I still have to try running it =
through the dishwasher a few times and see how well it holds. It =
probably wouldn't be any good for regular washings, but it might work =
good on vases, etc. It is called Lumocolor CD-R Pen by Staedtler.

I used a Sharpie Brand permanant marker on the bottom of a pot in 1997, it's
not one of our favorites, but it does get washed fairly often. The mark
hasn't faded at all. Sharpies are made by Sanford, and are avaliable
everywhere in southern USA. Always have one in my pocket at a craft fair. I
mostly use the fine point, but they also make an ultra fine point that is
more like a pen.
