spooze formulation clarification

Given the formulation:
1/3 Clay (whatever you are using)
1/3 Vinegar
1/3 Corn Syrup

Question 1: Are the measurements by volume or weight?
Question 2: Is the clay moist or dry?

Others will have opinions on this, but I prefer not to be so specific. My
own formula for spooze is half vinegar and half corn syrup by volume, and
then add enough of your powdered clay body to get the spooze to the
consistency you want. In some cases you want it very runny, so that the
excess easily squeezes out of a tight-fitting crack. In other cases you
might want to attach poorly fitting pieces or fill a small gap, which will
require a thicker spooze with more dry clay added. This is best left up to
you.

Hi Alan,
I've always used it with volume. I usually try to mix it with dry trimmings
of clay and as they get dampened by the liquid, the total volume adds up to
a little less than a cup's worth.
