What kind of effect/colors to you get when you put Ohata Red over Shino?
Sounds interesting. Any particular way you apply it? I tried a glaze over a
Shino once, and all I got was a big bubbly mess, sort of like Swamp Thing
exploded in my pot, only white.

Mike
This is an iron red glaze and over our shino it comes out a brighter iron
red with a dark line where the red meets the shino. In our situation we
have found our glazes work fine when they overlap shino but when shino is
on top that causes some serious ugliness only a mother could love. I posted
the Ohata and a Persimmon recipe earlier. Here is the studio shino recipe
we use:

Spotted Shino cone 9/10
Neph Syenite 2000
Spodumene 1500
Ball Clay 850
Soda Ash 400
EPK 250
Bentonite 102
