I've asked a ton of questions here, and I've read tons of answers to questions that I haven't

even fathomed yet, but to this question........ I have an answer!

brackers.com  (Their entire catalog is not on line, yet, but they have a brand new catalog

available.)

Anne, Anne, and Cindy (as well as the rest of the crew) are incredible!   And if they don't have

what you need, they'll know where to get it!

(and no, I don't work for Brackers!  Oh, but wouldn't that be fun a great place to work!)

I know there have been previous discussions of supplier problems, so I'd =
like to know if anyone could recommend a good source for high alumina =
kiln shelves. I ordered a batch last week from the Clay Art Center in =
Tacoma which should have arrived today. Since they never got here I =
followed up and discovered that they hadn't even been shipped. Slip up =
on their part, and apologies to me, but really not the kind of service =
you'd expect from an outfit with such a promising name. Kiln load all =
ready to go too. Anyone know who has these things in stock and delivers =
on their promises? Thanks. And thanks for letting me vent (a little).

umm, I tried to answer this last night, but apparently I didn't get the job done........

anyway.......

I buy everything from Brackers Good Earth Clays.    (Web: brackers.com    Not everything that

the carry is on the web, but they have a brand new catalog just out)

They are absolutely the greatest.

Susan -
Are you sure about the order from Clay Art Center? Is there perhaps some
reasonable explanation for this mixup? I ask this because for the last five
years I have taught workshops every summer at Michael McDowell's studio in
Ferndale Washington, and Michael swears by the products and service at Clay
Art Center. He really believes in them, and Michael is uncompromising about
such things.

Before you have these things shipped all the way from Axner or Highwater
(both good suppliers of high alumina shelves), I hope you will make another
attempt to follow through with the Clay Art Center.
Best wishes -
- Vince

I ordered some high alumina shelves from the Clayart Center too, and they finally
came, but the delay was from the original producer not Clayart. Why not call them
and ask? You'll get them eventually. Lesley
