Howdy to all! Does anyone have or know where I can get a printout of =
the chemical analysis for these two borates? We're down to our last 100 =
pounds of gerstley and need to start running tests! (grin)
Thanks in advance!
Megan
PS Still haven't tried the new slip ideas. Just been firing and firing =
and firing.

I think you can still purchase Gerstley Borate from Laguna Ceramics. My
supplier claims that the people who have tried substituting Laguna Borate for
GB have not felt that it is a completely adequate sub.

I am not so sure that the Laguna borate is the best solution.
Here is the link:http://digitalfire.com/gerstleyborate/substitutes.shtml
What bothers me about the Laguna boa rte is the 8.1% of alumina. it
makes it hard to use with an appropriate add of clay and fire it in
raku.
I use it, as a material, according to it's analysis not according to
it's
name
