You could probably make one, but why? You can just buy the correct size kiln shelf. I see the kiln shelf working better =
than anything I could make with out a special clay recipe.

Leava,

I can't tell you how to make one, because I never have. There may be
directions in the archives. But......the best pizza stone I have ever
used is a kiln shelf. Because they come in a multitude of shapes and
sizes, it is easy to get one that suits your needs. Also, they are
reasonable in price.

Good luck,

Hi,
I've made a couple of them for a friend at school, he loves them.
Sculpture mix 412 rolled to 1/2" in a slab roller, bisque fired at c/04.
Any shape you want, Mike Gordon, Walnut Creek, Ca.

Hi, Leava.

Yes, you could make a pizza stone. But don't,
unless you're passionate about it. Go to the local
ceramic and/or pottery supply store and buy a
full-round shelf for one of the smaller kilns.
Cheap, effective, and it doesn't take a lot of
time to perfect. (But don't use any kiln wash on
it. It flakes. )

A Pampered Chef party, perhaps?
I bought one to appease a neighbor who had a party several
years ago. It lives in my oven full time and is used for
reheating takeout pizza, toasting various breads and best of
all, roasting vegetables: sliced potatoes, zucchini, yellow
squash, carrots, peppers and even tomatoes and apples which
are a little messy. It just gets scraped every so often.
Don't know what I ever did without it.
