thanks to anyone who can help me with this....I have just left Penland and
am feeling very uneasy about being at home where there is really nowhere
for me to make work. I am desperately seeking my next step. I would
really like to find a residency situation or anything similar, but I don't
even know where to look. Thank you so much for any input.

Holly-

Just grab yourself an april ceramics monthly, every year they put out the
residency/workshop guide, it will have a nice overview of the massive
programs available. I think PMI does theres in November, calling it special
potters issue, with tags for materials, manufactureres, education facility
and craft centers. But if you down south still, call tennesse tech or
arrowmont, i think hte odessey rents space, or go to kansas city right now.
Rent some space in the Red Star with Steven Hill, make great stuff, put it
in a local shop and pay a little $$ to list it in the NCECA guide, or send
it in to CM. And wala, your semi famous, or at least 4000 peers see your
name in print and possibly see the showcase. Hows that for a low budget
marketing strategy??

After all, you gotta pay for food shelter and studio wherever you live, you
might as well do it where people see your face.
